Laporte means “the door”. It’s been the gateway to the high country since it was Northern Colorado’s first town and the original Larimer County seat. A few miles up the river, Bellvue quarried the sandstone that built much of Fort Collins, Greeley, and Loveland, one hand-cut block at a time. This valley’s whole history is about building things that last, standing at the threshold of the mountains. That’s not a bad description of what we do either.
The Cache la Poudre runs right through here. Colorado’s first National Wild and Scenic River, bordered by hay fields, cattle and horse ranches, and foothills that rise straight into the Poudre and Rist Canyons beyond. Ten minutes from Fort Collins, but genuinely rural with a cowboy persona.
